CPE II

The Group of Curriculum Modules for the CPE II Certification would include

1.  Piping Fluid Flow Hydraulics Line Sizing and Material Selection (required)

This Module teaches the proper way to size a pipeline or section of process piping with the correct fluid velocity, fluid pressure drop and piping material.  Understanding Fluid Flow is fundamental building block for all equipment sizing.   

2.  Project Management (required)

This Module teaches the aspects of project management, such as time, scheduled and cost.

3.  Statistical Process Control (required)

        This Module teaches SPC, Lean Manufacturing and Quality Control.

 

CPE (CPE Level III) Certification would include

1.    Control Engineering (required)

This Curriculum Module would teach the proper way to select a control system to obtain the desired behaviours.

2.    Professional Engineering Ethics Part 2 (required)

        This Curriculum Module would teach Professional Engineering Ethics Part 2

 

Choices for CPE Level II & III

1. Piping Fluid Flow Measurement Sizing and Material Selection

This Module teaches the proper way to size and install a flow measurement device such as an orifice plate.

2. General Instrumentation Sizing and Material Selection

This Module teaches the proper way to size and install general instrumentation. 

3. Instrumentation Control Valve Sizing and Material Selection

This module teaches the proper way to size and install an instrumentation control valve. 

4.  Pump Hydraulics Line Sizing and Selection

This Module teaches the proper way to size a pump hydraulic system with the correct fluid velocity, fluid pressure drop, net positive suction head and piping material. 

5.   Heat Exchanger Sizing and Selection

This Module teaches the proper way to size and select a heat exchanger. 

6.   Compressor Sizing and Selection

This Module teaches the proper way to size and select a compressor system.

7.   Distillation Column Sizing and Selection

This Module teaches the proper way to size and select a Distillation Column.

8.   Corrosion Theory and Control

This Module teaches Corrosion Theory and Control.

9.    Tribology Theory and Application

        This Module teaches lubrication and its applications

10.   HVAC Theory and Application

        This Module teaches Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning Theory and Application

11.    Geotechnical Theory and Application

        This Module teaches rock and soil supporting engineering systems.

12.    Hydrology Theory and Application

        This Module teaches water collection and management.

13.    Piping Safety Relief Valve Sizing and Material Selection

This Module teaches the proper way to size and install a Safety Relief Valve.

14    Electrical Theory and Application

        This module teaches electrical theory and application

15.   Electrical Circuits and Application

        This module teaches electrical circuits and application

16.   Electrical Power Supply and Regulation

        This module teaches electrical power supply and regulation

17.   Supply Chain Management

        This module teach Supply Chain Management theory and applications

18.    Human Factors and Ergonomics Engineering

        This module teaches Human Factors and Ergonomics theory and applications

19.    Facility Management

This module teaches the proper design of a facility - the coordination of space, infrastructure and people

20.    Waste Water Treatment Theory and Application

        This module teaches waste water treatment theory and application

21.   Solid Waste Management Theory and Application

        This module teaches solid waste management theory and application

22.   Water Supply and Treatment Theory and Application

        This module teaches water supply and treatment theory and application

23.   Environmental Impact Assessment and Mitigation theory and application

        This module teaches EIA and Mitigation theory and application

24.   Air Pollution Management theory and application

25.  Boilers Sizing and Selection

This Module teaches the proper way to size and operate a boiler system. Good performance of boiler is influenced by the maximizing the heat absorbed and
minimizing heat loss. 

26.   Furnace Sizing and Selection

This Module teaches the proper way to size and select a furnace.  Again, good performance of furnace is influenced by the maximizing the heat absorbed and
minimizing heat loss. 

27.   Flare System Sizing and Selection

This Module teaches the proper way to safely size and select a flare system.
